“O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.” Psalms 139:1 NLT
How many of us really know what’s going on in our hearts? Especially when the enemy is often successful at planting things there as well! Jeremiah tells us that our hearts are ‘deceitful and wicked’ but, and it’s a big BUT, he also tells us that the Lord searches our hearts and examines our secret motives.
So, although we don’t know what’s going on in our hearts, the Lord does.
Is that challenging – or what??
Time to Choose
In fact He is the ONLY ONE who really knows me. Now you have a choice, you can view that as being a comfort…..or you can be fearful because you don’t really want anyone to know, especially if you’re not too sure yourself!
But, if we make the choice to hand ourselves over to Father to search our hearts, that’s when we begin to know what we’re really like – through His eyes. And that may be a scary thing initially, but He is so gentle and only ever takes us at the pace we’re able to cope with.
Digging Deeper
He NEVER condemns us, but lovingly convicts us – only so that we can put things right, and why? He does it so we can have a deeper relationship with Him without being held back by what’s going on in our hearts.
Rejoice in the Lord!
Be encouraged and rejoice that no-one knows us better than Jesus knows us, and that He isn’t hindered by what He sees in our hearts; He only wants to help us clear out what shouldn’t be there.
Declaring the Word of God
I don’t know to what extent you know the power there is in declaring God’s Word….
But let’s stand together in the power of this declaration today:
“Lord you know everything about me. I am glad no-one knows me better than you do!”
Be blessed 🙏❣️
