“God has made Himself known in her palaces as a Refuge (a High Tower and a Stronghold).”  Psalms 48:3 AMPC

The City of God

Jerusalem, the City of God, was looked on as a place of refuge for God’s people.  In the Passion translation of this verse we read:

“This is his divine abode, an impenetrable citadel, for he is known to dwell in the highest place.” Psalms 48:3 TPT

The ‘highest place’ being a place of safety for all those in need.  David, in another Psalm, refers to God as being his ‘hiding place’:

“….you are my secret hiding place, protecting me….. surrounding me with songs of gladness!….”  Psalms 32:7 TPT

Who or Where is Your ‘Go To’?

When you find yourself in trouble, who or where do you run to for help and to find a safe place?  Do you run to family, friends or hide yourself away until things have calmed down?  Or, do you follow David’s example?  Have you discovered that the safest place to be is in your secret hiding place with the Lord?

The Lord First

I’m not suggesting you shouldn’t go for help to family, friends, etc but, I do believe, going to the Lord first and foremost is the best way ahead.  I have found in my own experience, that it is then that my Father can show me what is the best thing for me to do to get things sorted out!

God is My Refuge

Be encouraged, and learn that God truly is ‘my refuge’ and ‘my safe hiding place’… if you let Him!

Be so blessed in every way as you walk with Jesus. 🙏❣️
