“For you shall eat [the fruit] of the labour of your hands; happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) shall you be, and it shall be well with you.”  Psalm 128:2 AMPC

The way We Live

I wonder if we have fully realised to what extent the way we live our lives in our walk with the Lord, has a knock on effect on what happens in our own lives.  Please don’t think for a moment that I am saying we have to do certain things to gain or maintain our salvation.  We definitely do not!

Blessed are Those Who Fear the Lord

However, Moses tells us very clearly in Deuteronomy 28 all about the blessings that come to us through obedience; and also, unfortunately, the curses from disobedience!  Then, this Psalm 128  has been given a title that says: “Blessed is Everyone Who Fears the Lord” or, in another translation, simply: “The Blessings of the Lord”.

The Psalmist explains that we will:

“…eat [the fruit] of the labour…” of our hands that, in fact, our  “….reward will be prosperity, happiness, and well-being.”  Psalms 128:2 TPT.

In the first verse he talks about those who worship the Lord with obedience, as being blessed.

Isaiah the Prophet

And the Prophet Isaiah also adds to this, saying:

“Tell the righteous people that they are in a good place. They will enjoy the results of the good things that they have done.”  Isaiah 3:10 EASY

Could We Ask for More?

Let’s face it….. what more could we ask for than to know that our Father, in much the same way as our earthly fathers, enjoys being able to bless us for the work we do under His direction.  Amazing – we only need to do what He shows us to – and we’re the ones who reap the benefits!

Be blessed and encouraged as you walk forward in the Godly fear of the Lord! 🙏❣️
