“Jabez cried to the God of Israel, saying, Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and You would keep me from evil so it might not hurt me! And God granted his request.” 1 Chronicles 4:10 AMPC
Jabez was a praying man and he asked that God would bless him. He asked that his borders would be enlarged; that God would be with him and, especially, that God would keep him from evil so he wouldn’t be hurt. I believe that God loves it when we ask Him for specific things in our walk with Him, when they are in alignment with His Word and what He is doing in our lives.
Elsewhere in the Old Testament we find Job vouching for the fact that, if we pray to God, He will hear us and the ‘light of God’s favour’ will shine on us (Job 22:27,28 AMPC). And again, in Psalm 21:4, David asks for and is given ‘long life’ by His Heavenly Father.
It’s God’s heart that we should know His love and care for us in every area of our lives. We don’t have to plead for Him to bless us….He loves to do so! He even sends His Angels to take care of us. Watch out for God’s Angel Armies coming to you today to bless you and keep you safe!
