“My times are in your hand. Save me from the hand of my enemies and from the people that are trying to catch me.” Psalms 31:15 EASY
What sort of view do you have of your life? Is it a rather haphazard view, along the lines of ‘what will be, will be’ and there’s nothing much you can do about it to change it? Or – do you think the Lord God of the Universe holds the reins, not only of the universe, but of your life also, and is in control – or do you think that’s stretching it a bit too far?
David, who wrote the Psalm from which our verse comes from today, definitely held the view that his ‘times’ – in other words every day of his life, was ordered, or planned would be another way of putting it, by God Himself. In fact in one translation, it’s put like this “My life, my every moment, my destiny —it’s all in your hands.“ (Psalm 31:15 TPT). David was very sure Who had control of his life and, when he’s desperate because of enemies coming to take away his life from him; says in the Message translation “….I throw myself on you: you are my God! Hour by hour I place my days in your hand, safe from the hands out to get me.”
You see David was secure in his relationship with his Father. He was secure in the knowledge that whatever his enemies would try to do to him – his Father ‘had his back’ as it were and nothing could happen to him unless it was part of what He was allowing. And if that did happen – then he could trust that his Father was working towards a bigger picture.
I would encourage you, and myself, to walk as closely as we can with the Lord and know that security that David knew and trust Him that our lives are safe in His hands. Use our Declaration today to confirm this in your spirit and to remind the enemy where you stand!
Declare today that… “I will not worry about my future because it is safe in the Master’s Hands.”
