“When I was a child, I spoke about childish matters, for I saw things like a child and reasoned like a child. But the day came when I matured, and I set aside my childish ways.” 1 Corinthians 13:11 TPT

Time to Grow Up!

When Paul wrote this letter to the Corinthians, he was very concerned about the way they were behaving – in other words he was telling them in no uncertain terms that it was time to ‘grow up’!!

Paul was challenging the believers in Corinth, which really can be said to include us today – Paul was challenging them on the way they were behaving.  It would appear that he was concerned at the fact that their confession as believers – and the way they lived their lives didn’t somehow agree.  Much in the way youngsters differ in what they say and what they do.

Spiritual Maturity

The second part of our declaration today is stating that we are walking in spiritual maturity.  Are you?  Am I?  And what does the expression ‘spiritual maturity’ mean exactly?  To become more spiritually mature, which we’ll probably go on working towards until the day we go home to Glory, means changing the way we think and act.  We need to change our mindset around from pleasing ourselves – changing it round so that in all things we are pleasing God.

It doesn’t happen overnight but, if we have a real desire to change to the way our Father wants us to behave, then He’s given us the gift of the Holy Spirit to help us.

Let’s Declare together…  “No more shenanigans, I am now walking in spiritual maturity.”

Be blessed. 🙏❣️
