We Can be Confident in God Alone

“The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid?…. I will remain confident.”  Psalms 27:1, 3 NLT

The Light of God

What a joy when we wake in the morning to a sunny day…. and the difference when we wake to find it’s overcast, pelting down with rain and not a streak of sunshine to be seen anywhere!  But, even if I can’t see it, the sun is actually shining behind all the cloud and rain….

David speaks in this Psalm of how the Lord is his light and salvation (Psalm 27:1); and Micah at a later date, tells of how when we:

“….sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light to me.”  Micah 7:8 AMPC

And, in just the same way, He is a light to us as well.  Each one of us need the Light of God in our lives – even more than we need the light of the sun!

God’s Light NEVER Fails

I’m pretty certain that we all experience days when we’re so aware of our Father’s presence and the joy and security it gives us as we walk through the day with Him.  But we cannot always depend on that feeling – because, realistically, it’s not always there!

We have to learn to walk in the joy and security of knowing that Father is walking with us – whether we feel it or not.  On those days when everything seems to go wrong and we can’t seem to ‘see the wood for the trees’ – we need to know in our spirits that on those days He is also walking with us, because our hearts are not afraid and our confidence is completely in the Lord.

A Place of ‘Knowing’

I often find that it helps ‘firm up’ things in my spirit by speaking them out loud, especially by way of a ‘declaration’….  I think it’s because I hear it with my own ears!  The declaration coming from this Psalm is:

“I am not afraid of anyone, or anything seen or unseen, because my confidence is in the Lord.”

Be blessed as you Declare and meditate on this truth!!  🙏❣️
