“I will bless the Lord, Who has given me counsel; yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Psalm 16:7-8 AMPC
Once again we are able to look at how David lived his life and learn from his example. God has shown us such favour in giving us examples in His Word, like Abraham, David, Paul and many more who can help us in our lives today. And also, we are all privileged to meet and have people in our lives who help us grow in our faith as we walk with God.
David tells us very clearly that it is the Lord, and Him alone, that shows him how to live his life and, as a result, has given him the wisdom and stability he needs. If David felt he needed help to live his life wisely and steadily, I’m sure you’ll agree with me that we also need that wisdom and stability in our lives as well!
So how did David approach this task, and how can we do likewise? He tells us that his ‘heart instructed him in the night season’; he took time to be alone with God and had His Word held in his heart. He determined that, no matter what, he would put God first in all things. It was this combination of seeking God’s counsel, His wisdom; his relationship with God and focus on Him that resulted in him being able to declare that “….because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”
That is the position that we should all desire to be in. To know God as our Counsellor and to have a relationship and a focus on Him that gives us wisdom and stability in our lives on a day to day basis, as we walk with Him.
Let’s Declare together: “Today, l receive God’s wisdom, it will make a difference in my life.”
Be blessed 🙏❣️
