“Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favour to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].” Hebrews 4:16 AMPC
God’s Grace
Once again we are confronted with this issue as to who we should go to when we’re in need of help! It’s so easy to get into the habit of going to those around us, or even trying to work it out for ourselves. I wonder what God thinks of that, when He’s given clear access to Himself through His Son Jesus, who’s our Intercessor and great High Priest? Not only that, we have the privilege of the Holy Spirit living inside us to show us the way – and still so often we don’t turn to Father for help straight away when we need it.
Help When Needed
We have been commanded in the Word to come boldly, and with confidence, to ask the Lord for His help when we are in need – and He has provided us with the way of grace to do so. He must be so sad that, so often, we choose to go elsewhere….
We act almost as those we don’t believe Father will help us, even when we’re told that Jesus is interceding for us as well. Joyce Meyer, in her ministry, reminds us that we need to approach God as believers – not as though we think we are beggars! Remember, we’re told to be bold and make our request for help to be known to our Father – He’s already told us that He will help us, through His grace, if what we ask is within His plan and will for us.
Let’s Declare together – “I WILL WALK BOLDLY into the place You have prepared for me.”
