“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
I am so glad that FATHER KNOWS!!! Jeremiah told the Israelites: “I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. NEVER forget that Father has a specific plan for your life, but also remember that we have to take part in that plan for it to be able to happen!
He Has Good Plans for Us – Our Choice!
God will never force His plan on us, but you will find that we have to be obedient and do what He shows us to do. Otherwise it won’t happen!! But we can be confident that the plans He has for us are good plans for our benefit. Isaiah reminds us that the thoughts that God has are nothing like the thoughts that we have; and His plans for us are so much better than those we can imagine for ourselves.
A Future and a Hope
Jeremiah also tells us that the reason He has these ‘good plans’ for us, is because He wants to give us a ‘future and a hope’; and in another place the Lord tells us “There is hope for your future,” (Jeremiah 31:17 NLT) – just to make sure we’ve grasped the truth of what He’s saying!!
God’s Promise
Like all of the wonderful promises given to us in God’s Word, we need to get this truth embedded in our spirits. Then, when things get tough and we don’t know which way to go, the Holy Spirit can stir up this truth within us and remind us that ‘Father knows’ and we don’t have to worry. He’s already got it ‘sorted’ and will show us what He wants us to do.
