God’s Promises
“I will….. make a way in the wilderness….” Isaiah 43:19 KJV
Earlier this week I shared some thoughts on Facebook about the promise given to us through Isaiah – how God has promised to “make a way in the wilderness” for each one of us. I’d like to ‘expand’ on that today as I feel there’s more encouragement for us to receive!
The Lord has been so gracious in giving us so many wonderful promises in His Word for us to be encouraged by, and to stand on, when the enemy starts throwing his weight about…. I wonder how good you are at remembering them, and where they actually appear in the Bible? I have to confess that I’m not brilliant at either remembering them, or in knowing where I can find them – but praise God for being able to look up online as to where they are!!
But…. what is so wonderful is this: when I’m really in need of a Word / promise in the situation I find myself in – then somehow I find it’s right there in my mind, and it’s exactly what I need to get me through. So how does it work out like that? I believe that, as we read and meditate on the Word on a daily basis (make it part of our life and walk with Jesus) then it is somehow ‘stored’ in our spirit. Then, at that point in time when we need that particular Word to stand on and be encouraged by, the Holy Spirit brings it to the surface of our mind to help us in our point of need.
Removing the Obstacles
You see, when those obstacles arise in our lives, and we have no idea on how to find a way through – our Father is already ahead of us, and prepared to sort it! He’ll bring up from our spirit the very Word we need to move against that particular obstacle in His strength. And what He does is to make a way through for us – when we feel it’s impossible to go forward ourselves.
One Step at a Time
So what’s our part in it all? Our part is to trust Him and to do whatever He shows us to do in the situation – and to take each step forward that He shows us to. It’s so important to do and to move in all He instructs us to. When we’re obedient in what He asks us to do (and that might even be just waiting patiently) – it leaves Him free to be able to do what we can’t do!
So…. be encouraged, and go on being diligent in reading and meditating on the Word and let it really become a part of you….. 🙏❣️
Isaiah says the Lord goes onto say
” Forget about what has happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present, be present, I’m about to do something brand new”
Listen to him and Praise the Lord everyday!!
