“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment….”. 1 John 4:18 KJV
What Are You Afraid Of?
Do you ever think of the things that you’ are afraid of, and why you are afraid of them? What do you do to try and cope with those fears – or do you just try to ignore them, and hope and pray they’ll go away? Have you ever tried to find out what God’s Word says about ‘fear’? Sorry for all the questions, but sometimes that’s the only way to find out the answers to them!
John doesn’t try to categorise our fears. In fact, when we experience fear, what we really want to do is to stop it – not to examine it! Our fear is always related to punishment, no matter what has instigated it in the first place.
The Answer to Fear
The thing is, that John shares with us the answer to fear, through this wonderful promise that Father has given us in His Word. He says that love, that’s God’s LOVE, drives out all the fear of punishment and there’s no room left for it!
Our Choice
And what part do we play? We have to CHOOSE to believe Father’s promise and keep declaring it, although our feelings might tell us otherwise! Sometimes we have to even do something when we still feel afraid and trust God to help us through! In other words, we have to believe that God’s love is greater than the fear that we feel.
Let’s Declare together….
“I reject every feeling of doubt, fear and discouragement, in the name of Jesus.”
Be blessed 🙏❣️
