The Daily Declarations / Pick Me Up Notes
Before sharing with you about The Blessing Daily, I need to share with you how the Lord brought it into being….
Let me share how they first came about…. If you’ve seen them before on the FB pages I post them on, or are seeing them for the first time on my website (in the Pick Me Up section) – you’ll soon realise that they all have one thing in common. At the beginning or the end, because it does vary, they all have a ‘declaration’ of some sort that has arisen from a specific verse (occasionally more than one) in the Bible.
These first began in the Blessing Church in January 2018, during the time it was in Bridgwater, Somerset (UK) – when the Lord spoke to Pastor Joe Benjamin about the power of declaring the Word of God. As a church we began to stand and declare together 7 declarations on a Sunday morning – one for each day of the week…. Then we found there were those in the church who asked if they could have copies.
To cut a long story short – we began to post them on WhatsApp and Facebook and these evolved over a period of time. Gradually I began to slightly expand them, to what they are today, and Pastor Joe handed them over to me to take care of! As we continued we found there were some who felt they would like the ‘declarations’ in print so they would be available to go back to at other times.
Joe and I both felt a stirring in our spirits over this, feeling the Lord wanted us to move forward on the suggestion. I think we realised that in print something more substantial was needed than what I was posting on a daily basis online. We both prayed and I began to put an outline plan together for a daily reading.
Initially we were aiming for a devotional with ‘dates’, but not confined to a specific year. However, more recently we felt we should move towards producing something that’s suitable for daily study, but no dates just a heading, which they were in fact already being given. This will make it less restrictive, with readers just being able to ‘dip in’ for encouragement at any time they need to.
Again initially the plan was for me to put the outline pages together, plus a few possible thoughts and then send a week of the daily to Joe to expand the content with what the Lord gave him. I prepared the first week and found myself putting more than just a few thoughts down – anyway, I sent him the first week for him to work on…. Next thing – Joe rang me and gave me rather a shock. He explained that, as he was going through to see what the Lord wanted him to do with it – He stopped him! He believed that the Lord said it was to stay as it was and he could leave it all with me for the Holy Spirit to guide me in the content of it all.
And that’s how we’ve continued – I put it together with Father’s guidance, and then send it a week at a time to Joe to look through. I feel happier if he checks it through – I’d hate it to have anything that wasn’t in line with scripture! Oh, and our vision is for more than one volume to be produced…..!
Part of the reason for sharing this at this particular time is that we’re at the point of only having one week of declarations to go, before we complete the first volume. Praise the Lord!
We want to let folk know well in advance that “The Blessing Daily – Volume 1” should be published by the end of the year. An ideal Christmas present for the those who love the Lord – ready to be used in the coming year of 2024!
