Where Does My Strength Come From
Tell me, where is it that you believe your strength comes from? I’m not referring to your physical strength – but your strength to cope with those challenges that come against you on a day by day basis? What tactics do you employ when the enemy comes creeping round you with his sly lies and devious innuendos? What weapons do you have in your arsenal to fight off the attacks of the enemy?
I’m asking you these questions because I believe it’s important that we’re prepared. Prepared to recognise the attacks and where they are coming from. Prepared and ready to know what to do in fighting off the attacks – and to know what the Word of God tells us about it all….
God Helps Me
Paul, in his second letter to the Thessalonians, reminds us very clearly that “….the Lord always does what he has promised…..he will help you to be strong inside yourselves. He will keep you safe when Satan attacks you.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3 EASY. I love it that this translation says that God will help me be strong ‘inside myself’ – that’s Holy Spirit strength that’s being given to us.
The ‘sword of the Spirit’, God’s Word that strengthens us and fights the lies of the enemy. And don’t forget the ‘power of praise’ – praise and worship is such a weapon of strength against the enemy, and he hates it. God is faithful – always remember that He has set us “on a firm foundation” and guards us “from the evil [one]”.
Be bold and Declare that…. “My life is NOT a fertile ground for ANY evil to thrive, in the NAME of JESUS.”
