“The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him.” Psalm 28:7 AMPC
David’s Heart
Here we find David sharing his heart with us once again and clearly saying that the source of his strength is because he puts his trust in the Lord. As a result, the Lord is like a shield that protects him and gives him the power he needs. And David so often needed protection and power from the Lord, right throughout his life!
My Heart
So what does this mean in relation to us, you and me, in our lives? Well, David wasn’t a ‘one off’ and so special to the Lord that He looked after him in a special sort of way. The truth is that each one of us is special to the Lord, that’s what we learn from His Word – and He wants to look after each of us in just the same way as He looked after David, and so many others we read about in His Word. We can follow David’s example of his heart relationship with the Lord.
Be Joyful
Be aware that the enemy won’t like it but greater is the joy and the strength in us, than anything the enemy can produce. And yes, you didn’t misread what I said – our joy, in our walk with the Lord, is one of the weapons we have against the enemy. The last thing the enemy wants is for us to be joyful – he knows only too well the strength it gives us in our walk with the Lord, and he’ll do everything he can to try and stop us being joyful.
So – determine to be joyful, to thank the Lord for all He is doing in your life and walk forward in the protection your Father gives you, that’s just like a shield, 🛡️ and the power that He gives you in your life every day.
Be blessed and encouraged in your walk with the Lord – and seek to go deeper….!!
God bless 🙏❣️
