Getting Older?

How do you feel about getting older?  Is it something you dread, or has walking day by day with the Lord changed your attitude toward it?  David continues to thank the Lord in this Song of Praise.  Then, after specifically saying how the Lord satisfies his every desire with good things, he goes on to say to the Lord…..”You’ve supercharged my life so that I soar again like a flying eagle in the sky!”  What a wonderful illustration!

And in another translation, David says “…I stay young and strong like an eagle..”.  Such a great testimony of his Father’s life in him.  

What a Promise

Elsewhere another psalmist writes that “….in old age they will stay fresh, bearing luscious fruit and abiding faithfully….”. Psalms 92:14 TPT.  

I Am ALWAYS Young In God’s Presence 

There is something about being in the presence of God that strips away all sense of age, so that whether you’re a teenager or an old age pensioner – you can both experience the vibrant life of Jesus flowing in and through you by the power of the Holy Spirit.  We’re told in the Old Testament how Joshua and Caleb led the Israelites into the Promised Land when they were well into their eighties!

What more could we ask for?  And if you say “….that’s not my experience….” – then I want to challenge you to ask your Father, how it can be!  

Remember… God makes us forever young in His presence – so don’t own ageing as your portion  in life!!
