“…You honour me by anointing my head with oil. My cupn overflows with blessings.” Psalms 23:5 NLT

David, through ALL his difficulties, has learned how to ‘encourage’ himself in the Lord – and we see him doing this again here in this well known Psalm.  What do you do when you start to feel overwhelmed by the challenges coming against you?  Do you let yourself slip into self pity; do you get busy trying to sort it out yourself and asking friends for help – or, do you first turn to the Lord for His encouragement and help?

David acknowledges that his life is full of the blessings of the Lord, his cup running over is the way he expresses it – even when he doesn’t always feel as though that’s happening!  Our declaration today speaks of us ‘walking faithfully’ in the assignment we have been given us by the Lord – and that is the key…..

Paul says very clearly that when the Lord calls us to accomplish a task, He will enable us to do it – “He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.” (1 Thessalonians 5:24 ESV).  And we can stand on that promise in the midst of the challenges and difficulties, trust the Lord and thank Him for His blessings overflowing in our lives.

Let’s Declare together that:   “My head is anointed with oil, my cup is overflowing, I WILL walk faithfully in my assignment.”

Be blessed. 🙏❣️
